What are you going to do

As a Cable Bolt Underground Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating the DS422i Sandvik drill underground. Your role will involve drilling cable bolt holes to support mine stability while adhering to all safety and operational protocols. Additionally, you will play a key role in training and mentoring local drillers to ensure knowledge transfer and the development of a skilled local workforce. This position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a remote work environment.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Proven experience operating the DS422i Sandvik drill in underground mining environments
  • Expertise in cable bolt drilling techniques and underground support installation
  • Ability to train and mentor local drillers effectively
  • Strong understanding of underground mining safety standards and procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness do FIFO roster to Papua New Guinea for initial 6-month contract duration
  • Relevant mining qualifications and certifications as required by local regulations
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding underground conditions
