Introduction

On behalf of our client, a World Leader within the Energy / Oil & Gas industry, Brunel is presently sourcing a Senior HSE Advisor - HUC. This position will is to commence as soon as possible, initially to be based at the Corporate Perth CBD office until the 25.02.2025, then to transition to site on a 3:3 roster for the duration of the contract to 30.11.2025.

What are you going to do 

You will provide HSE guidance and support for the safe execution of the hook-up Commissioning (HUC) activities and provide HSE support.

  • Provide specialist HSE advice, guidance and on-site support
  • Understand and support effective implementation of HSE requirements
  • Lead the delivery of HSE improvement initiatives offshore
  • Support Occupational Health & Safety incident investigations including conducting incident investigations, entering details to the Event reporting system and developing and tracking actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Review and analyse HSE data including hazard reports, HSE inspection findings and incident investigations to proactively identify opportunities
  • Lead and monitor on-site HSE leading indicator activities including Permit to Work Audits, CIC Inspections and HSE Observations
  • Complete daily, weekly or monthly HSE reports as required
  • Conduct / participate in HSE Assurance activities as per Assurance Schedule
  • Promote a focus of process safety (including reporting of Tier 3 & events) and support increasing team awareness of process safety management principles
  • Promote the 'Stop Work' authority by intervening in unsafe acts or conditions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HSE Key Performance Indicators
  • Participate in the development, review and implementation of risk assessments and other work planning documentation for scopes of work to ensure compliance to the Company's Risk Management requirements
  • Ensure HSE actions raised from scopes of work are tracked and closed within due by dates
  • Escalate HSE issues to the Team Lead as necessary
  • Assist Operations HSE advisor as required, including Return To Work Presentations, incident investigations, site familiarisations

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements

  • Tertiary Occupational Health and Safety / Technical Safety Qualifications
  • (T)BOSIET
  • Maritime Security Identification Card
  • OGUK equivalent Medical
  • Lead OHS Auditor
  • "Root Cause" investigator in a recognised RCA methodology- Tap Root preferred
  • Confined Space Entry, Working from Height and Authorised Gas Testing qualifications from an Australian Registered Training Organisation
  • Previous HSE experience in the Oil & Gas sector- Offshore preferred
  • Experience with brownfield integration in an operating asset preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills in multi-stakeholder environments
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • ENGICA (or other Permit to Work system)
  • Cority (or other event reporting suite)
