The Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving sales growth in the marine sector, promoting Gears and Services' products and services, and building strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will have a technical background with experience in selling marine equipment and solutions, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills. This individual will work closely with customers in the marine industry to provide tailored solutions.Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Business Development: Generate new business opportunities and conduct day-to-day sales-related activities of marine-related products and services, including gearboxes and Aftermarket Pumps business for the industrial markets. Along with the Sales Manager, develop and implement strategies to acquire new clients and maintain relationships with existing ones within the marine sector. Identify key prospects in the marine industry and close sales deals in a timely and efficient manner.2. Technical Consultation & Solution Design: Collaborate with the engineering and technical teams to ensure the proper solution for Gearboxes and Pumps. Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and training sessions to showcase the value of products and services to marine industry customers.3. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with key marine clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business. Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the lead-to-contract process.4. Market Research & Analysis: Monitor market trends in the marine industry and competitor activities to stay up-to-date with industry developments. Provide feedback to the management team on market demands and opportunities within the marine sector.5. Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities, forecasts, and progress against targets. Assist in the preparation of sales proposals, contracts, and pricing negotiations, ensuring competitive and profitable solutions.6. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure the successful execution of marine-based projects. Participate in regular team meetings to update progress, share insights, and address any challenges.Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of experience in sales or business development, with a focus on the marine sector or industrial equipment related to marine applications. Experience in selling complex technical products or services to the marine industry, including gearboxes, propulsion systems, or related mechanical equipment.Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Pumps and Gears and related equipment in the Marine and Industrial Sectors. Ability to quickly grasp and effectively communicate technical concepts related to marine equipment and services.Sales Skills: Strong sales acumen with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets in the marine equipment sector. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills tailored to the needs of marine industry clients.Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, key stakeholders, and internal teams.
