Introduction

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor Lead to manage the commercial and cost control aspects of a major LNG Processing Plant (LNGPP) project. This role is essential to ensuring the accurate forecasting, monitoring, and reporting of project costs, as well as overseeing contract administration and variation management in alignment with project goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, leadership capabilities, and extensive experience in quantity surveying within large-scale oil & gas or LNG infrastructure projects. This position presents a significant opportunity to contribute to a high-impact project with a strong emphasis on cost efficiency, contract compliance, and execution excellence.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead and manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities across the LNGPP project lifecycle.

  • Prepare and validate detailed cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts in alignment with project requirements.

  • Monitor and control project costs, including the evaluation of variations, claims, and change orders.

  • Ensure contract compliance and manage contractual correspondence with contractors and vendors.

  • Oversee procurement support functions related to material take-offs, BOQ, and bid evaluations.

  • Collaborate with project controls and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely cost reporting.

  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and support value engineering initiatives.

  • Provide commercial risk analysis and propose mitigation strategies where applicable.

  • Manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring high-quality deliverables and performance.

  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve any commercial or contractual issues.

  • Ensure all cost and contract activities comply with company policies, project specifications, and applicable regulations.

  • Support audits, project closeout, and final account settlement activities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Indonesia Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.

  • Proven experience in large-scale oil & gas or LNG infrastructure projects, particularly during EPC phases.

  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, or equivalent) and contract administration practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cost control systems, budgeting, forecasting, and cost reporting.

  • Proficiency in quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, and cost estimating tools/software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or similar).

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities within strict deadlines.

  • Willingness to be based at the project site and adapt to a dynamic construction environment.
