The Energy Analyst will have the opportunity to engage with multiple stakeholders across the business to deliver key analytical insights in line with the planning and forecasting process. This role will also support the strategy function of the team through analysis and communicating insights.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Conduct research and analysis on the Fortescue energy operations as well as the broader industry. Including but not limited to trends, benchmarks, and risk analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the internal operations and energy market.
  • Maintain the PLEXOS energy model assumptions
  • Run the PLEXOS energy model for the purposes of the quarterly forecasting process
  • Deliver analysis through written reports and presentations.
  • Regularly present findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, operations optimisation, and the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports.
  • Engage with stakeholders to frame and analyse key strategic planning decisions and gather critical data.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as required to support the Strategic Planning function.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualified in Finance/Accounting/Engineering
  • 3+ years' experience in the energy sector. Renewables experience is desired.
  • Commercial/financial analysis experience
  • Ability to take complex analysis and communicate in simple concepts
  • Familiarity with energy modelling tools, preferably PLEXOS
  • Power management system experience desired
