Introduction

Our client is a well established private equity firm building a growing pipeline of wind and BESS projects in Australia and are seeking development managers to be responsible for development activities from early stage through to FID. Look after a portfolio of projects in Victoria and be supported by a high performing leadership team.

About this role

Project Development:

Lead the end-to-end development of solar and BESS projects, from greenfield identification through approvals and financing.
Manage teams and external contractors to ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.
Secure necessary permits and licenses, working with local authorities and stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate risks to ensure smooth project progression.

Business Development:

Contribute to the creation of business cases for new renewable energy projects.
Manage due diligence processes for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
Provide input on emerging renewable energy technologies and market opportunities.

Growth Strategy:

Support the company's growth in the Australian market by identifying and developing new project opportunities.
Work closely with senior management to shape the project pipeline and growth strategy.

Reporting & Communication:

Monitor project budgets and timelines, reporting on progress and risks.
Lead stakeholder communications and manage community engagement for project development.

Skills:

Strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
Financial literacy and understanding of renewable energy markets and technologies.

Experience:

Extensive experience in the development of renewable energy projects, particularly solar and BESS.
Proven ability to manage complex projects through all development stages.
