Introduction

What are you going to do 

  • Design and review of control and communication systems.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes. Liaise with external and internalteams, clients and vendors.
  • Collaborate and resource internally to meet company standards/specification and/or integrate with existing systems.
  • Attend and witness factory and site acceptance testing for SCADA and control systems.
  • Support commissioning and troubleshooting of automation systems and other applications as required.
  • Recommend and develop product and/or process changes to improve system performance or to better satisfy project or other stakeholder needs.
  • Review and analyse specified problems and issues to identify best practice solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are adhered to during various stages of project execution and appropriate qualitydocumentation is populated.
  • Ability to undertake domestic or international travel for project requirements (including site travel).

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Electrical Control System experience in mining or power industry required.
  • Bachelor of Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with Substation Automation will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in designing, developing and diagnosing RTU, HMI, SCADA and network systems.
  • Ability to interpret control system requirements and create functional design specification (FDS).
  • Experience with Siemens A8000 or SEL RTAC RTU's and associated SCADA packages are highly regarded.
  • Experience with various control system controllers and SCADA packages.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC104, IEC61850.
  • Demonstrated ability in technical report and specification writing.
  • Good understanding of the balance between technical and commercial outcomes
  • Strong knowledge and application of Australian Standards (Electrical)
