What are you going to do 

Description

As a Shutdown Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for executing planned maintenance, inspection, and repair activities during scheduled shutdowns. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure all mechanical systems and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Your role will involve troubleshooting, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling mechanical components, adhering strictly to safety protocols and operational procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing mechanical maintenance tasks during shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Diagnosing faults and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborating with engineers and other technicians to meet project timelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Documenting work completed and reporting any discrepancies or issues.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, particularly in shutdown or turnaround environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or fitting.
  • Current safety certifications such as Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, and Gas Testing.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required during shutdowns.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
