Introduction

We are currently seeking a skilled Process Engineer for a 3-month FIFO contract with a background in metallurgy to join a leading mining operation on a site-based, short-term contract. This role is critical in supporting the day-to-day performance of the plant, driving process efficiency, and ensuring production targets are met.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide technical support across iron ore processing circuits
  • Monitor and analyse plant performance to identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot process issues
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Prepare reports and contribute to metallurgical investigations and test work

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Previous experience in a process engineering/metallurgist role within the iron ore sector
  • Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of mineral processing and plant operations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator with a team-oriented approach
  • Must be available to start immediately
  • Australian residency is essential
