Introduction

  • This position is coordinate interfaces between projects and to be as facilitator for risk assessment sessions that required by all ongoing projects. It will also be acting as backup for projects base positions.
  • Support the development of the Design Safety Case and Technical Integrity Verification (TIV) and ensure these are reviewed and aligned with Operations up to handover.
  • This position will act as back up for project-based Loss Prevention function and support whenever the workload instead.
  • Provides visible safety leadership through active participation in the Project Safety Program.
  • Major challenge for this role is maintaining effective working relationships with projects base teams and stakeholders (e.g. Operations and SHEQ) to ensure alignment on overall of Loss Prevention requirements in accordance with philosophies and procedure.
  • Risk based evaluation of complex technical issues that may have significant commercial impacts to the ongoing projects execution.

What are you going to do 

  • Provides administrative assistance to Head of Technical Safety & LP on various issues and substitutes as Acting Head of Technical Safety & LP on as required basis.
  • Coordinates and participates, as required, in accident & incident investigations that required Technical Safety inputs.
  • Facilitate, lead Formal Risk Assessment (Joint Safety Review, HAZOP, what-if) and prepare related reports, track actions, and administrate them in a database form till close out.
  • Represent Technical Safety & LP shared resources and provide support to the ongoing NFPS projects for any safety study and review including, but not limited to HAZOP, HAZID, 3D Model Review, SIL Review, QRA etc...
  • Support and participate in handover planning of new installations to Opco from loss prevention engineering point of view.
  • Act as backup for ongoing project due unavailability of the assigned resources to unforeseen reasons.
  • Support and participate in the scheduled pre audits, audits, and reviews as per gates requirements and shareholders audits programs.
  • Manage interfaces with Head of Technical Safety & LP and Engineering Manager (Shared Resources) and Engineering team Heads to gain alignment on Loss Prevention Engineering needs, objectives and requirements.
  • Support the Head of Technical Safety & LP in stewarding the Design Safety Case that meets the Project’s and OPCO’s requirements and ensure Technical Integrity Verification (TIV) plan is implemented.
  • Support the Design Performance Standards evolvement into Operate Phase Performance Standards at the end of the execute phase before handover.
  • Support ongoing project on the pre-audits and design review sessions to ensure the readiness.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Safety Engineering or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Safety Engineering.
  • 10-12 years’ experience in industrial safety and loss prevention in the oil and gas industry with special emphasis in Offshore Projects & Operations, Process Safety, Technical Safety Studies such as QRA, SIL, Hazops, PHA studies, Loss Prevention Engineering, Risk Assessment, Safe Systems of Work and Emergency Procedures.
  • Special emphasis is placed on ability to lead hazard identification reviews utilizing recognized techniques (e.g., HAZOP, What-If, etc.) with a good understanding of risk assessment techniques. Practical knowledge of safe systems of work is essential with Emergency Preparedness knowledge/experience strongly desirable.
  • Strong teamwork, facilitation, with the ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the project’s organization.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good computer literacy in professional and technical packages.
