Introduction

The Contract Lead is responsible for overseeing the contract management process throughout the project lifecycle, including contract drafting, negotiation, administration, and compliance. This role ensures that contractual obligations are met by all parties and that risks are minimized while supporting the successful execution of projects.

What are you going to do 

  • Lead the preparation, review, and negotiation of contracts, subcontracts, and related documents.

  • Ensure that all contracts are compliant with company policies, legal requirements, and applicable regulations.

  • Act as the main point of contact for contractual matters between the company, clients, partners, and subcontractors.

  • Monitor contract performance and ensure that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks throughout the project.

  • Manage contract amendments, variations, and change orders in coordination with project and commercial teams.

  • Support procurement, project management, legal, and finance departments in contract-related matters.

  • Maintain organized records of contracts, correspondence, and relevant documentation.

  • Provide advice and support to project teams regarding contractual rights, remedies, and obligations.

  • Assist in claims preparation, dispute resolution, and negotiations when required.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contract management, preferably in [insert industry: e.g., construction, oil & gas, energy, etc.].

  • Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and project delivery models.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management systems or tools.

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); knowledge of other languages is a plus.

  • Professional certifications such as IACCM/WorldCC Certified Contract & Commercial Manager (CCCM) or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with international contract standards and dispute resolution procedures.
