Introduction

The Construction Manager will oversee the entire construction phase of a data center project under the EPC delivery model. Responsible for on-site execution, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, quality, safety, and budget, while coordinating across engineering, procurement, and subcontractors.

What are you going to do 

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead and manage daily construction activities on-site to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to align design, material delivery, and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with EPC contract scope, technical requirements, and project milestones.
  • Monitor construction progress and report updates, risks, and deviations to the Project Manager.

Team & Contractor Coordination

  • Supervise and direct contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
  • Chair regular site meetings to manage schedules, logistics, and progress tracking.
  • Resolve site conflicts or discrepancies between design and actual implementation.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards according to company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits for compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure all permits and legal requirements are met throughout construction.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all construction work meets design specifications, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning of installed systems.
  • Manage punch lists and oversee completion of outstanding work.

Budget & Resource Control

  • Support cost control by managing labor, equipment, and material use on-site.
  • Work with procurement to track delivery schedules and inventory needs.
  • Identify potential cost-saving measures without compromising quality or timelines.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary on-site contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates and attend project coordination meetings.
  • Manage expectations and address concerns promptly.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in construction management, preferably in EPC or data center/infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure (MEP, BMS, HVAC, power, etc.).
  • Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
  • Familiarity with EPC project workflows, contract administration, and quality systems.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
