What are you going to do 

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Buyer / Expeditor to support procurement and supply chain activities for offshore platform or FPSO projects. This role is responsible for purchasing materials and equipment, ensuring timely supplier performance, and expediting deliveries while maintaining required quality standards to meet project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute purchasing activities in line with project requirements
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in compliance with technical specifications and contractual terms
  • Source and evaluate suppliers for cost-effectiveness, reliability, and quality
  • Monitor supplier progress and ensure adherence to delivery schedules
  • Track and expedite orders to meet project milestones
  • Manage procurement documentation (purchase orders, inspection reports, test certificates, shipping documents)
  • Act as the main point of contact for suppliers on order status, delivery commitments, and technical clarifications
  • Identify potential delays/risks and implement mitigation actions
  • Review non-conformance reports (NCRs) and resolve quality or delivery issues with suppliers
  • Support supplier audits related to procurement, delivery, and quality performance
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA/QC, logistics, and project teams for smooth execution

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, buying, or expediting within: Offshore platform projects, or FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects
  • Strong experience in supplier follow-up, order tracking, and expediting
  • Good understanding of procurement processes within oil & gas / offshore sectors
  • Familiarity with quality standards, inspections, and non-conformance handling
  • Experience in Middle Eastern projects is an advantage
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
  • Good written and verbal Mandarin is required to communicate effectively with Chinese vendors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline
  • Experience in EPC project environments
  • Familiarity with international standards (API, ASME, ISO)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
