Introduction

Brunel is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our clients the Asset, Engineering, and Maintenance team. This is a permanent onshore position based in Darwin, NT.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager - Asset Operations, the successful Electrical Engineer will play a key role in providing technical and advisory support to the Offshore Management Team regarding electrical systems and relevant regulatory requirements.

About this role

  • Plan and coordinate engineering services across project phases.
  • Ensure technical quality and manage engineering documentation.
  • Execute strategies for sustainable and safe engineering solutions.
  • Manage performance data for continuous operational improvements.
  • Handle engineering solutions for change requests.
  • Lead contractors, vendors, and junior engineers.
  • Conduct risk assessments for testing and maintenance activities.
  • Support design, calculations, and drawing development.
  • Analyze incidents and perform root cause analysis.
  • Participate in safety and constructability reviews (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP).
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting on-site.
  • Monitor unit performance to ensure standards are met.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferred but not essential.
  • Extensive experience in electrical engineering design and technical/operational support.
  • Experience with offshore/FPSO projects, including conceptual design, commissioning, and operational support.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian and International standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive experience in electrical systems, equipment selection, and installation for hazardous areas.
