Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Drill Fitter to join the team, specialising in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of mobile plant equipment. This role involves working on heavy-duty drilling machinery. Working on a 2:2 roster, you'll be part of a team maintaining effciency and safety of equiptment. The role is a 6-month contract with potential for extension based on operational needs and performance.

About this role

As a Drill Fitter in the Mobile Maintenance Department, you will focus on the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile plant. This role involves diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, ensuring that drill rigs operate efficiently and safely to meet production demands.

Duties:

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on mobile plant, including CAT MD6310, Epiroc PV271, and Epiroc D65 drill rigs
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems to ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to reduce downtime and improve productivity
  • Replace, repair, and service components such as engines, transmissions, drifters, and hydraulic pumps
  • Perform detailed inspections and provide clear reports on equipment condition
  • Collaborate with operational teams to plan and prioritize maintenance tasks
  • Adhere to strict safety procedures and ensure compliance with all site policies and standards

Requirements:

  • Trade Qualification Mobile Plant Technology
  • Experience working on CAT and Epiroc drills
  • Current Manual C-Class Driver's Licence (HR is preferred)
  • Working at Heights
  • High Risk Work Licence with EWP, CV (Crane/Franna is preffred)
  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Proven experience in mining
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report on maintenance activities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and zero harm
