Are you ready to lead the development of innovative mobility solutions? As a Lead Design Engineer, you'll oversee complex systems from concept to certification, working on groundbreaking technology that blends aviation and automotive engineering. You'll play a key role in cross-functional teams, with opportunities to take initiative, grow your skills, and make a real impact. If you're a hands-on engineer ready to shape the future of mobility, this is your chance.

What are you going to do

  • Take full ownership of complex subsystems across their entire design life cycle - from concept development to certification.

  • Design and further develop vehicle systems, such as power plants, structural components, or electronics, depending on your area of expertise.

  • Lead impact assessments involving multiple systems and support change management.

  • Identify technical and project risks early in the development phase and define effective mitigation strategies.

  • Propose validation and verification strategies, and support them with detailed design substantiation, analyses, or test setups.

  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of both the product and engineering processes.

  • Communicate with suppliers and external partners when needed to ensure technical alignment.

You are an experienced engineer who enjoys taking ownership, working independently, and driving results. You bring a proactive, hands-on approach to engineering and support your team through technical expertise and leadership.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed HBO or WO degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar design engineering role.

  • Experience with CAD, FMEA, and FEM tools (depending on your specialty).

  • Preferably experience with compliance demonstration and/or certification.

  • A valid driver's license.

  • Excellent command of the Dutch language, spoken and written.
